Day Camp 2001 Highlights

Our pack was well represented at this year's Colonial Trails District Day Camp at Carrollton Nike Park.  Our up coming Bear's (along with some great Cub Scouts from Pack 89 and Pack 50) were in Den 4 and brought home the Spirit Stick!  Thanks to all the wonderful parent's who came out to help and make this a great and memorable event for all of the scouts.  Even though it was a tough week of heat, sun, bugs, and hustling about, almost everyone still had a smile at the end of the week.

Some of the highlights:

105 ° heat index- drink water, lots of water

BB shooting - We have a couple of marksmen in the making, it sure was hot in that sun though!

Archery -  Did I say point that thing at the ground?

Nature - plenty of leaves, shells, and wildlife, a very informative program where the scouts were able to classify shells and learned about extinct species

Crafts - We built CD racks and tic-tac toe games, more stain and paint on the scouts than the projects though!

Fishing - You have to love a sport where everyone gets to reel one in (although most were only sardine sized, we did see a few "big ones")

Sports - Kickball, softball, volleyball and plain just having fun!

Can you say FIRE TRUCK or AMBULANCE we got to see them up close and working (don't panic it was only a demonstration)!
