The Blue and Gold
Banquet held on Saturday, February 15, 2003 was great! The Auction was
competitive and there was a run on the General Store. The greatest part of
all was that our whole Pack reaped the rewards of our successful fund
raising events that made this year’s Blue and Gold free.
We started a new “General Store” where each Cub Scout had the opportunity
to spend Cub Bucks on a wide variety of items. Cub Bucks were awarded
based on Popcorn and Ham sales of the individual Cub Scout. The more you
sold the more you earned. Thanks to Drew Smith for making the Cub Bucks
and Laura Padgett for doing such a great job of setting up the store.
A sincere thanks to the folks at Gwaltney Inc. for their support in
providing the great food and to Sharon Schmincke and Beverly Langford for
setting it all up. Of course the food would have just laid on the table
without the great help from the Boy Scouts of Troop 36. Well done guys!
Our Silent Auction was a big hit again this year. Thanks to all who
provided items to be auctioned off and to Nedra Crider, Lori Cratsley, and
Darlene Blair for all of their hard work in getting it all together.
The skits were very entertaining! Thanks to all the Cub Scouts who did
such a great job.
Thanks to Walter Schmincke and James Langford for their hard work in
putting on an impressive Webelos to Scouting crossover ceremony. The Boy
Scouts did a wonderful job of welcoming our graduating Webelos into the
Troop. Thank you for spending your Saturday with us. Also thanks to Steve
Turner (Pack 36 alumnus circa 1968) and the brothers of the Order of the
Arrow Wahunsenakah Lodge 333 for helping in the presentation of the Arrow
of Light.
As we sit at this Pack Meeting the Webelos II section is now empty. With
this first step they have started along the trail of the Eagle Scout. We
wish them and their families well as they continue their Scouting
experience with Troop 36. We have been blessed in having you and your
families with us.
