Pack 36 Cub Scout and Troop 36 Boy Scout Honor Veterans

Two brothers recently volunteered their time to provide an exceptional service to honor our deceased veterans this Memorial Day Weekend.  At 8:00 am on the 23rd of May Stephen and Mathew gathered with a group of volunteers to place over 28,300 + flags at the tombstones of deceased veterans at the Hampton National Cemetery.   This annual event has grown to approximately 175 volunteers from Fort Monroe and the surrounding community.  Stephen,  a 7th grader at Trinity Lutheran School and  First Class Scout in Troop 36, was able to count this public service towards his community service requirement for  advancement to the rank of Star.  His brother Mathew, is a 3rd grader at Carrollton Elementary School and a Bear Cub Scout in Pack 36.  Pack 36 is particularly proud of Mathew for going out and performing this wonderful service for the community.  Matthew will be advancing to first year Webelos at this months Pack Meeting on May 28, 2003.  A warm thanks and congratulations on a job well done to two Scouting brothers!
